The University Distinguished Professors award honors faculty who have made sustained contributions of consistent educational excellence and have demonstrated outstanding commitment to undergraduate education. The Call for Nominations is issued annually in mid-September.

Offered through the Social and Behavioral Sciences Research Institute, these $2,000-maximum grants are intended to help prospective PIs develop opportunities that have a clear return on SBS's investment.

The Fellowship supports promising tenure-track faculty members (in any field) in becoming more widely recognized for their work and more closely connected with colleagues, nationally and internationally. In particular, the fellowship defrays up to $5,000 in costs associated with invited participation in a national or international professional meeting, where the awardee will present research findings, scholarship, and/or creative activities. Davis Fellowship proposals are due in October, 2018. Check back for an exact due date.

Awards up to $5,000 to support research at the Center for Creative Photography by curators, writers, and researchers investigating the life and work of Kenneth J. Botto; photographers working to incorporate set-up, collage, or constructed imagery; or photographers whose work is a critical comment on political, social, and/or art historical issues in society.

Awards up to $5,000 to support research into the art and career of Josef Breitenbach (1896-1984) and as his work and archive relates to other works and archives in the Center's collections.

The UA Water, Environmental, and Energy Solutions (WEES) Initiative is offering competitive grants for the purchase of instrumentation, equipment, infrastructure or major software licenses needed to enable UA researchers to be more competitive in applying for major grants and to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaborations. This could include investment needed to generate data, conduct pilot projects, and increase computing capabilities through software or hardware acquisition, or other related expenditures.

Awards up to $2,500 to encourage research by curators, historians, social scientists, writers, artists, and critics, on photographers whose archives are at the Center.

Awards up to $2,500 to support research at the Center for Creative Photography in the history of photography.

The University Distinguished Outreach Faculty award recognizes faculty who have made outstanding contributions to outreach at the University of Arizona, in the State of Arizona and the nation. The Call for Nominations is issued annually in mid-September.

The Provost's Author Support Fund is available to faculty or academic professionals whose workload description includes the expectation of research and publication, and who hold appointments in units reporting directly or indirectly to the Provost.
