Arts and Humanities Fellowships

Overview

NEH Fellowships support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Recipients of the award generally produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources in the humanities.

Schedule for the 2023-2024 Academic Year

Application Deadline: Late Fall 2023 (TBD) for the NEH Fellowships Preparation Program Writing Group

During the five-month program, with bi-weekly meetings, faculty will be able to explore approaches to develop competitive proposals. This will be an accountable, participatory program where faculty provide feedback to one another. There is a maximum of six faculty in the writing group that will begin in late November, depending on faculty availability. Open to all faculty, but space is limited. Application materials consist of a one-page description of the project that NEH Fellowship funding will be sought for, a statement of support from your department head (email OK), in addition to a brief CV (no more than five pages). The application should be submitted by TBD Fall 2023, through Arizona Cultivate.
