The Jointly Sponsored NIH Predoctoral Training Program in the Neurosciences (JSPTPN) is an institutional program that supports broad and fundamental research training in the neurosciences. In addition to a broadeducation in the neurosciences, a key component will be a curriculum that provides a strong foundation in experimental design, statistical methodology and quantitative reasoning. JSPTPN programs are intended to be 2 years in duration and students may only be appointed to this training grant during the first 2 years of their graduate research training. The primary objective is to prepare students to be well-trained scientists equipped to pursue careers in neuroscience.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) does not allow appointed Trainees to lead an independent clinical trial, but does allow them to obtain research experience in a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor.

For the purposes of this RFA, teaching isdefined to include all aspects of developing human capital in order to help meet current and future national food, agricultural, natural resources, and human sciences (FANH) workplace needs. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2023 Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP): National HCOP Academies. The purpose of the National HCOP Academies is to assist individuals from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds to enter and graduate from a health professions program. The National HCOP Academies funds programs that work to improve recruitment, matriculation, retention, and graduation rates by implementing tailored enrichment programs that address the academic and social needs of trainees from disadvantaged backgrounds. HCOP Academies also provide opportunities for community-based experiential health professions training, emphasizing experiences in underserved communities. A funding preference is available to applicants who partner with several public or private health or educational entities to establish, enhance, and expand educational programs that produce a competitive applicant pool of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

More specifically, the purpose of the National HCOP Academies grant program is to: 1) promote the recruitment of qualified individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds into the health professions, including allied health programs; 2) improve retention, matriculation and graduation rates by implementing tailored enrichment programs designed to address the academic and social needs of disadvantaged students; and 3) provide opportunities for community-based health profession training in primary care, emphasizing experiences in rural and underserved communities.

The BIL is a once-in-a-generation investment in infrastructure, designed to modernize and upgrade American infrastructure to enhance U.S. competitiveness, driving the creation of good-paying union jobs, tackling theclimate crisis, and ensuring stronger access to economic, environmental, and other benefits for disadvantaged communities (DACs). The BIL appropriates more than $62 billion to the Department of Energy (DOE) including funding to support investments to build a clean and equitable energy economy that achieves zero carbon electricity by 2035, and puts the United States on a path to achieve net-zero emissions economy-wide by no later than 2050“ to benefit all Americans. As new load and generation come online as the market moves in line with these goals, deploying the projects that will support a more resilient and reliable grid will be critical. At present, aging grid infrastructure leaves the grid increasingly vulnerable to attacks. The increasing frequency of extreme weather events is leading to energy supply disruptions that threaten the economy, put public health and safety at risk, and can devastate affected communities all over the country.

This FOA seeks applications to address these three goals:
1. Transform community, regional, interregional, and national resilience, including in consideration of future shifts in generation and load
2. Catalyze and leverage private sector and non-federal public capital for impactful technology and infrastructure deployment

The GusNIP Nutrition Incentive Program Training, Technical Assistance, Evaluation, and Information Centers (NTAE), Assistance Listing 10.331, is aligned with the USDA Strategic Plan FY 2022-2026 Strategic Goal 4: Make Safe, Nutritious Food Available to All Americans. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2023 Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) Technical Assistance Center. The purpose of this program will be to support all 50 states, the District of Columbia (D.C.), jurisdictions, U.S. territories, tribal communities, and birthing facilities that are participating in the AIM program through the provision of technical assistance (TA). Such assistance is intended to increase birthing facility engagement, support bundle implementation and sustainability, manage reporting and analysis of state AIM data, and promote safe care for pregnant and postpartum people. The program will also build data capacity for participating entities to track progress on bundle implementation and support improvement of data collection and reporting to measure program impact more effectively.

This project will build the framework needed to create a neutral and secure data repository and cooperative where producers, universities and not-for-profit entities can store and share data to foster agriculturalinnovation and to support technological progress, production efficiencies, and environmental stewardship. The project must have clear and complete plans to ensure diverse participation, including all land-grant university types, growers, and representatives of all relevant data producer and consumer organizations, with attention to the costs and benefits for all sectors, and with special attention to barriers and value for farmers.

The Rural Health and Safety Education Program seeks to foster quality of life in rural communities by providing the essential knowledge necessary for successful programs of rural development, improving coordination among Federal agencies, other levels of government, and institutions and private organizations in rural areas, and developing and disseminating information about rural conditions.

Per the authorizing legislation described in Part I (A) of this RFA, the RHSE program addresses the health and well-being of rural America through supporting the development and/or implementation of projects focused on:
1. Individual and family health education programs with specified contents;
2. Rural health leadership development education programs to assist rural communities in developing health care services and facilities and assist community leaders and public officials in understanding their roles and responsibilities; and
3. Farm safety education programs to provide information and training to farm workers, timber harvesters, and farm families.

The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of this R25 program is to support educational activities that encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, to pursue further studies or careers in research.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites R25 applications to support the development and implementation of summer research education programs for high school students, undergraduates, or science teachers from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences. It is essential to expand and diversify the skilled Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and Alzheimer’s Disease Related Dementias (ADRD) research workforce and provide exposure to AD/ADRD research to individuals early in their careers. The proposed research education programs will support intensive summer research experiences in the AD/ADRD field with the goal of exposing participants to AD/ADRD research and encourage further study or participation in biomedical research.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2023 Integrated Maternal Health Services program. The purpose of this program is to foster the development and demonstration of integrated maternal health services models, such as the Maternity Medical Home (sometimes referred to as the Pregnancy Medical Home (PMH)), which is modeled after the patient-centered medical home. The models developed and demonstrated by this program support comprehensive care (including clinical, ancillary, behavioral health, and support services) for pregnant and postpartum people who experience health disparities and have limited access to basic social and health care services. The primary goal of this initiative is to identify integrated health services models for future replication that will improve maternal health outcomes, advance health equity, and address systemic barriers.
