Overview
Group directories are generated dynamically with people nodes, grouped by taxonomy. It's important to avoid manually creating 'static' lists of staff as these quickly become outdated and unmaintainable. Directories are sorted in alpha order with a Sticky at top of lists option for placing specific people at the top, such as directors/leadership as appropriate.
We recommend leaving the directory in pure alpha order, if possible.
Pulling 1-2 people to the top
If you need a specific person or two at the top, use the Sticky at top of lists option.
Full Customization
If you need full customization for the order of your directory, it can be done via the List Weight field when editing a person node. You'll need to set a list weight for each person on your team. List weight 1 will be listed first. We don't recommend doing this option as it requires a lot of manual input and future maintenance cost. That being said, read on if you really need to customize your directory.
Visit your directory page while logged in and hover over the top right corner of an individual person node to quickly get to editing. Alternatively, search for names on the content overview page.
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the person edit screen to the list weight field.
Set a value of 1 for the person who should appear first. Repeat the process for each person who needs custom order applied.
