The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that support democracy, human rights, and the rule of law for Syrians. DRL’s objective is to protect civic space, promote the reintegration and protection of conflict-affected women and children, and support housing, land, and property rights. Proposals should also recognize, as a foundational tenet, the importance of a pluralistic, rights respecting Syrian national identity, inclusive of all religious and ethnic backgrounds.

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders are intensive academic programs that provide groups of foreign undergraduate students with a deeper understanding of U.S. society, culture, and institutions. Institutes include academic sessions, an integrated study tour, leadership training, community service activities, and opportunities to interact with a wide range of Americans. The ultimate goal is to provide foreign student leaders with an in-depth examination of a specific field of study, while also developing their leadership skills and heightening their awareness of the history and evolution of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions, broadly defined.

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2021 Rural Residency Planning and Development (RRPD) Technical Assistance (RRPD-TA) Program. The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to provide technical assistance (TA) to HRSA’s RRPD Program award recipients to support the creation of new rural residency programs that will expand the rural physician workforce. For the purposes of this notice of funding opportunity, rural residencies are allopathic and osteopathic physician residency programs in specialties as determined by HRSA that primarily train residents in rural clinical settings and focus on producing physicians who will practice in rural communities.

The primary purpose of the OVW Training and Technical Assistance Initiative (TA Initiative) is to provide direct training and technical assistance to existing and potential OVW recipients and subrecipients to enhance their efforts to successfully implement projects supported by OVW grant funds. OVW’s TA Initiative is designed to strengthen and build the capacity of civil and criminal justice system professionals and victim service providers across the nation to respond effectively to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking and foster partnerships among organizations that have not traditionally worked together to address these crimes.

The Stronger Democracy Award will grant a total of $12 million to proven, scalable, and game-changing solutions that address one or more of the following key solution categories: Voting & Elections: Implement structural reform around voting rights and access, redistricting, voting architecture, and campaign finance. Policy-Making: Strengthen legislative processes and tools to improve bipartisan relationships among politicians, increase access to policy expertise through nonpartisan think tanks and research engines, and promote the passing of policies representative of the broader electorate.Civic Engagement: Improve civic education and participation to support citizens, communities, and society as they inform policies and hold representatives accountable.

UArizona may submit one proposal. The U.S. Mission to Indonesia is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. The U.S. Embassy's Public Affairs Section (PAS) in Jakarta invites proposals for projects that further and support the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the U.S. through educational, cultural, informational, and media programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural or media-related element, or a connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.
