Research Development Services (RDS)

Research Development Services (RDS) facilitates effective collaborations between researchers and funders to bring about meaningful discoveries, critical innovation, and real-life impact.

Who We Are

Research Development Services at UArizona is the nation’s most robust of its kind. The RDS team of approximately two dozen professionals brings expertise from multiple disciplines in academia, industry, and government. Most RDS staff members have advanced degrees.

What We Do

Our goal is to help the UArizona community grow research collaborations that address grand challenges and contribute to the flourishing of all life. To accomplish this, UArizona aims to reach $1 billion annually in research expenditures. The university achieved $954 million in FY2023, which places it among the top 4% of public universities in the nation.

How We Work

RDS walks alongside researchers from early career to senior experts as they strategize, find, and win funding—from small, limited projects to multi-year, multi-institution interdisciplinary endeavors. With RDS, careers prosper. RDS also has experts dedicated to helping connect community partners, national security entities, and corporations with UArizona researchers, equipment, and workforce.
