Description: Recognizing that scholarly activity at the University of Arizona spans multiple fields and mediums, RII is launching dedicated seed grants to aid in the production of original works and scholarship. This funding may be used for costs associated with producing a product, performance, or installation, e.g., time in a recording studio, film and videography expenses, installation expenses, travel, and other expenses related to the production of innovative scholarship.

If the proposed activities engage the public or UArizona community, the production, performance, or exhibition must be accessible.

Applicants may request up to $10,000, although in very well justified cases, up to $15,000 may be requested.

Proposal preparation, submission, and processing information is available in the RII Proposal Preparation Guide (PPG) v.7. The PPG includes requirements for the project narrative and supplemental documents; it is strongly encouraged that interested applicants read the PPG in full as proposals that do not match the PPG will be returned without review.

Solicitation Specific Guidance

As this is a production grant you may provide a short (3 PDF page) supplemental document or link to a short (less than 3 minutes) video. The supplemental document may include visual representations, photographs, or other materials not applicable for the text portion of the proposal.
