Career & Professional Development Programs
Each of the following programs consists of a targeted curriculum of workshops and trainings that will help participants generate the skills and knowledge they need to be more successful as researchers and research administrators. Please register for these programs through UAccess Learning.
NSF Career Grant Preparation Program
This program offers a guided program and proposal development assistance to those that chose to submit a full proposal to NSF. Learn more about this program here.
NIH R Series Grant Preparation Program
This program comprise the largest category of funding by many of the NIH Institutes and Centers.
Arts and Humanities Fellowships
This program provides introductory workshops and writing groups for those interested in submitting NEH and ACLS fellowships. Learn more.
Responsible Conduct of Research Certificate Program
This program provides an introduction to research ethics, scholarly integrity, and codes of conduct for researchers and scholars. The program is available and open to the entire campus community, but is required for students, postdocs, and certain junior faculty funded through either the National Science Foundation (NSF) or the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Research Compliance & Ethics
Training & Workshops
Conflict of Interest:This Program works with The University of Arizona’s research community who are engaged in external relationships to ensure that all identified financial conflicts of interest or institutional conflicts of interest are appropriately managed, reduced, or eliminated.
Export Control: This program enables all individuals working at the University of Arizona, to be familiar with and fulfill the requirements of the U.S. export controls laws and regulations.
Human Subjects Protection Program: This program works in collaboration with the research community to maintain an ethical and compliant research program and it is charged with the protection of human research subjects.
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee: This program oversees the University’s animal care and use program, ensuring the appropriate care, use, and humane treatment of animals used for research, testing, and teaching.
Health Information Privacy and Security:This Program oversees all ongoing activities related to UA’s implementation of HIPAA policies and procedures and is the office primarily responsible for ensuring UA’s HIPAA compliance.
Research Laboratory and Safety Services: This program assists, monitors, and provides oversight to ensure that federal, state, local, and University of Arizona regulations and policies are implemented in a safe and secure manner.
Responsible Conduct of Research:This program fosters a culture of ethical and responsible conduct of research program. It aims to provide a high quality instruction in responsible conduct of research to the entire campus community.
