The Honorable Deborah L. Wince-Smith is president and CEO of the Council on Competitiveness, a nonpartisan coalition of CEOs, university presidents, labor leaders and national laboratory directors dedicated to driving U.S. productivity, innovation and global leadership. A pioneer in competitiveness strategy and technology policy, she served over two decades in senior government roles, including as the first Senate-confirmed assistant secretary for technology policy under former President George H.W. Bush and assistant director for international affairs in the Reagan White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Wince-Smith has held numerous high-level board and advisory positions, including the IRS Oversight Board, the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Competitiveness, and Malaysia’s Global Science and Innovation Advisory Council. She currently serves on national commissions on innovation and intellectual property protection, and as vice-chair of the Trustees of the American College of Greece, among other prominent global advisory and corporate boards.
