Ansel Adams Research Fellowship
Awards up to $5,000 to promote new knowledge about photography and the history of photography.
Confluencenter Graduate Fellowships
The Confluencenter Graduate Fellowships are designed to fund specific projects for eligible graduate students in an effort to build a community of scholars to advance innovative interdisciplinary research. Candidates for selection must demonstrate evidence of innovative scholarship or creative work that can advance a field in the arts, humanities or social sciences.
Dissertation Research Grants
For students in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Social and Behaviorial Sciences Research Institute offers grants of to $1,500 for graduate students who will complete preliminary exams and advanced to Ph.D. candidacy by award time and who require funding to conduct their dissertation research.
Edward Weston Family Research Fellowship
Awards up to $5,000 to support research on the art, career, and influence of Edward Weston (1886-1958), his family, models, and friends.
Graduate Student Educational and Professional Development Fund
The Department of Classics has established a Graduate Student Educational and Professional Development Fund. All current Classics M.A. students are eligible to apply for funding to support professional, educational, and outreach activities related to their graduate studies.
Graduate Travel Funds
Travel stipends to professional meetings are available for graduate students pursuing a Ph.D., M.A./J.D., graduate certificate, or Ph.D. minor in Gender & Women’s Studies at the University of Arizona. Funding may be provided to individuals traveling to a conference to present a paper or who have or will be attending a conference which they can demonstrate will advance their research and professional goals.
Josef Breitenbach Research Fellowship
Awards up to $5,000 to support research into the art and career of Josef Breitenbach (1896-1984) and as his work and archive relates to other works and archives in the Center's collections.
Milton Rogovin Research Fellowship
Awards up to $5,000 to support research into the art and career of Milton Rogovin (1909-2011) and socially concerned photography.
Pre-Doctoral Research
For students in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Social and Behaviorial Sciences Research Institute offers grants of up to $500 for Ph.D. and Master's research activities for a Master’s thesis, publishable manuscript, or a pilot project that will support a dissertation. Allowable expenses include research-related travel and expenses, subject payment, supplies, and small equipment
Robert M. Quinn Endowment for Distinguished Scholars in the History of Art
Awarded in alternate years to contribute to the support of a distinguished graduate student in Art History.
Todd Walker Research Fellowship
Awards up to $3,500 to support research into the art and career of Todd Walker.
Science, Engineering and Technology
Bok Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Bart J. Bok Fellowship for Advanced Study in Astronomy and Astrophysics was created in honor of Bart J. Bok, director of Steward Observatory from 1966 through 1970. This three-year Fellowship provides an opportunity for an exceptionally talented recent PhD recipient to pursue a program of research in any area of theoretical or observational astronomy or astrophysics. The full facilities of the Observatory are available to the Fellow, who is encouraged to pursue both independent research and collaborative work with Observatory staff members.
Carson Scholars Program
Carson Graduate Scholarships support outstanding University of Arizona graduate students and their research. The scholarships are awarded through a competitive process to current UA students who are committed to interdisciplinary research and communication.
Dissertation Improvement Grants
The Institute of the Environment offers up to five Dissertation Improvement Grants (DIGs) in the amount of $1,000 each for Global Change Ph.D. Minor Graduate Interdisciplinary Program students.
Graduate College Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity
The Graduate Program offers the prestigious National Institutes of Health Initiative for Maximizing Student Diversity (IMSD) Graduate Study Awards to outstanding underrepresented students who are admitted to one of the participating Ph.D. biomedical programs at the University of Arizona.
Institute of the Environment Graduate Student Travel Awards
The semiannual Graduate Student Travel Awards program provides funding for graduate students to travel to meetings, workshops, conferences, or symposia to present their research, or to do fieldwork. All graduate students at the University of Arizona who are engaged in interdisciplinary environmental research are invited to apply. The maximum award is $500.
The Marshall Foundation Dissertation Fellowship
The Marshall Foundation Dissertation Fellowship is intended for graduate students who are in the completion stage of their dissertation and who have exhausted all other funding resources except for loans.
Renewable Energy Network (REN) Future Leaders Summer Fellowship Program
The REN Summer Fellowship is awarded to outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional ability and commitment in renewable energy science, technology, economics, business, policy or other renewable energy-related fields.
Student Fellowship Awards - Water Sustainabilty Program
Each year the Water Sustainability Program awards fellowships to outstanding students studying any aspect of water resources relevant to water issues in the state of Arizona.
Victor P. Thalacker Chemistry Graduate Fellowship
Eligible students for the Victor P. Thalacker Chemistry Graduate Fellowship shall be a student in good standing in the Ph.D. program in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The student will have completed their second or third year of graduate studies in either organic or inorganic chemistry or a sub-discipline of either and have been admitted to candidacy for the Ph.D. degree. The student must be either a U.S. citizen or have been granted permanent resident status of the U.S.
UA/NASA Space Grant Program
This program provides six graduate fellowships per year to exceptional graduate students interested in promoting the understanding of space-related research to the public and who are studying in space sciences/engineering, public policy, earth sciences, science education, and global change-related fields.

Graduate and Professional Student Council Research and Project Grant Funding
Current graduate and professional students in good academic standing who have a project proposal and a principal investigator or project advisor may apply for Research and Project Grant funding.
Graduate and Professional Student Council Travel Grants
The Graduate and Professional Student Council awards travel grants for graduate and professional students who are attending or presenting research at academic or professional conferences.

The Office of Fellowships and Community Engagement (OFCE) assists graduate students in searching and applying for funding outside of the UA. OFCE provides a monthly newsletter with current funding opportunities and advice on applying for funding.
