This is a new research funding announcement with an accelerated timeline to support innovative, high-impact studies that fit clearly within PCORI's core mission of patient-engaged and patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research.

Program aims to fund projects in the following areas: protecting vulnerable populations from epidemics and catastrophes; improving data collection and quality in health; understanding the effects of confinement and social distancing; early warning and preparedness; preserving the environment and our health; and learnings from COVID-19 for mitigating future related crises in climate and biodiversity. Preference will be given to projects with a local focus and potential applicability on a global scale. Applicants should be six to ten years from the awarding of their doctorate.

The purpose is to provide maximum flexibility to assist tribes, tribal organizations, urban Indian health organizations, and health service providers to tribes to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus and the evolving needs in rural communities.

This award will fund clinical, basic, translational, and population health projects that seek to better understand the pathobiology and clinical implications of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) viral infection that leads to the morbidity and mortality seen with COVID-19 : a new understanding of the basic biology of respiratory viruses that could lead to better treatment and prevention; development of novel therapeutics and vaccines; understanding host factors that alter response to these infections; understanding individual, regional, or social factors increasing

The COVID-19 Telehealth Program will provide $200 million in funding, appropriated by Congress as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, to help health care providers provide connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations in response to the novel Coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) pandemic.  The Program will provide immediate support to eligible health care providers responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by fully funding

COVID-19 has had medical, financial, and social impacts on our Arizona communities. These impacts have been uneven at best. For some community members, the consequences of isolation has been devastating. Recovery may be even more uneven and, in some ways, more complicated. To support researchers at UArizona to respond to questions related to the consequences and responses related to COVID-19 in our communities, the Drachman Institute will fund up to $10,000 in seed grants for 1 to 3 projects meeting the following criteria:

Our work to improve diagnostic performance will focus on three clinical categories – acute vascular events, infections and cancers. As we embark on this work, our primary strategy is to strengthen accountability for diagnostic excellence by helping to develop and validate new measures for diagnostic performance. In addition, we will look at opportunities to support growth and capacity of the field – preparing leaders dedicated to working on the issue of diagnostic excellence.
