Flinn Foundation strategy meeting

When

Thu, Apr 9 2026, 3:30 to 4:30pm
This meeting is to align University of Arizona units around a coordinated strategy for engagement with the Flinn Foundation; protecting and strengthening a 37-year partnership that has invested more than $26M in University of Arizona.

The Strategy Meeting Will:
  • Provide a shared understanding of Flinn’s bioscience strategy and funding patterns.
  • Review UA’s giving trends and where we have been most successful.
  • Discuss how fragmented outreach can unintentionally weaken institutional positioning.
  • Build agreement around a light coordination framework.
Agenda:
  • Overview of the Flinn Foundation’s bioscience priorities and UA funding patterns.
  • Discussion of how UA is currently engaging and where alignment may be strengthened.
  • Exploration of coordinated communication and sequencing strategies.
  • Q&A with Foundation Relations and past Flinn recipients.
The mission of the Flinn Foundation is to improve the quality of life in Arizona to benefit future generations. To accomplish this, the Foundation pursues philanthropic work in several core areas, including:
  • Advancing Arizona’s bioscience sector through research, entrepreneurship, and commercialization initiatives.
  • Enhancing undergraduate education for high-achieving students (e.g., Flinn Scholars).
  • Elevating the fiscal and creative capacity of Arizona arts and culture organizations.
  • Strengthening civic leadership and civic life across the state.
There are two options for attending: in person at the Swede Johnson Building (1111 N. Cherry) with parking available at no cost, or by Zoom.
Please RSVP to Alexis.Espinoza@uafoundation.org and indicate in person or Zoom preference. You may also submit questions in advance when you register.
