Law and the Societal Impact of Science

What does law have to do with scientific research?

From vaccines to quantum networks, law mediates the social impact of virtually all scientific innovation. The reverse is equally true. Facial recognition algorithms,  self-driving cars, and other recent scientific innovations shape the practical impact of law on our daily lives.

At this panel, legal scholars and scientists from across campus will discuss their research collaborations and the powerful synergies between law and science. Come hear their stories and learn how the College of Law’s top-ranked research faculty can illuminate the social impact of your scientific research, as major funders are increasingly demanding.

This program is co-sponsored by RII’s Office of Societal Impact and the College of Law.
