Seed Funding the 4th Industrial Revolution

August 26, 2:00 - 3:00pm & August 27, 10:00 - 11:00am

Join Dr. Mark Van Dyke, Associate Dean for Research, College of Engineering and Professor in Biomedical Engineering for an overview of the Eighteenth Mile TRIF Funding 2021. During this two part info. session Dr. Van Dyke will discuss the call for proposals.

Getting grant funding can seem like a marathon. Many runners “hit the wall” around the 18th mile and go no further. The purpose of the Eighteenth Mile Funding Program is to infuse support into developed yet unfunded projects in order to get them “over the goal line” and secure funding from an outside sponsor. Projects must relate to the TRIF initiative in Innovative Technologies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IT4IR), which includes the following Focus Areas:

  1. Internet of Things
  2. Data Sciences
  3. Cyber-Physical Systems
  4. Advanced Manufacturing
  5. Artificial Intelligence
