The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offer a large number of graduate scholarships, fellowships, and awards.

The Aaronson Lectureship and cash prize are awarded every eighteen months to an individual or group who, by his or her passion for research and dedication to excellence, has produced a body of work in observational astronomy which has resulted in a significant deepening of our understanding of the universe. Any living scientist is eligible for this award without consideration of race, sex, or nationality.

Awards up to $2,500 to an individual engaged in researching and writing about photographic theory relating to the imagery and its impact on individuals and societies; and/or our relationship to images and the reasons that drive their creation.

The Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry supports interdisciplinary and collaborative projects designed by faculty from the Colleges of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Behavioral Sciences. The grants are intended to foster innovation; support collaborative work that crosses disciplinary boundaries; enable faculty to apply for subsequent external funding; and increase the impact and visibility of research, scholarship and creative activity at the University of Arizona.

Faculty who retire from the University, have served a minimum of fifteen years, and receive approval from the President are given the title of Emeritus. Approved documentation from the department head and dean must be forwarded to the Provost for review. The Provost submits the recommendation to the President for final approval.

The Global Change Minor Program will provide up to $800 in travel funding for graduate students enrolled in the Global Change minor to present their work at academic/professional conferences or travel for fieldwork in support of research.

Tech Launch Arizona's Asset Development Program funding helps advance inventions that aren't ready to attract licenses or investors.

Funding is available from The University of Arizona Cancer Center Support Grant for collaborative translational research pilot projects. Projects that may lead to an investigator-initiated trial or that propose correlative biomarker studies of prospective or of completed targeted cancer therapy clinical trials in support of more extensive proposals are of particular interest. Projects that address the basic science of a clinically relevant problem are also encouraged.

Certificates awarded to two outstanding graduate students annually (by faculty nomination).

This fellowship provides support for currently enrolled UA graduate students from any degree-granting program whose work is focused on the nexus of environmental research and decision making. Examples of fellowship projects include: developing informational or decision-support tools, generating outreach activities based on environmental research, examining societal impacts of environmental change, analyzing the vulnerability and resilience of people and/or ecosystems, and conducting environmental science research for specific stakeholder needs.
