LIMITED SUBMISSIONS
If you would like to apply for a limited submissions opportunity that is not listed on the limited submissions table (NETID login required), have questions regarding opportunity listed on the table, or are unsure if a funding opportunity is a limited submission, please contact limitedsubmissions@arizona.edu.
Limited submissions are funding opportunities where the funder has limited the number of applications an organization is allowed to submit. Research Development Services (RDS) is the designated facilitator of the University of Arizona’s limited submissions. Selected proposals will need to follow the university’s proposal submission procedures. Please note that proposals to private foundations may require submission and coordination through the University of Arizona Foundation.
Research Development Services announces internal competitions for limited submissions at least eight weeks prior to the funder’s deadline in most cases. Applicants have two weeks to submit an internal pre-proposal via Arizona Cultivate. Unless otherwise noted, internal pre-proposals are due Wednesdays at 5:00pm MST. If the internal competition is competitive, meaning more pre-proposals are received than institutional submissions are allowed, the pre-proposals will undergo a two-week peer review process to determine the institutional ticketholders chosen to move forward. Applicants will be updated on the selection status of their pre-proposal via email.

- Open meaning the internal deadline has passed without any pre-proposals submitted or there is not sufficient time to hold an internal competition due to the proximity to the funder’s deadline.
