With the help of two radio telescopes coordinated by the UA, astronomers have taken the first direct image of a black hole. By connecting radio telescopes across five continents into one Earth-sized virtual telescope, they managed to resolve the shadow of a supermassive black hole, a prediction of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.
