Demystifying NSF’s Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) Program

When

Wed, Oct 1 2025, 12:00 to 1:00pm

Where

Join Research Development Services team members on the first Wednesday of every month to focus on proposal development strategies! We listened to your extramural funding priorities, and expert team members will share insights on specific sponsors, mechanisms, and effective writing techniques. Come with questions and contribute to a shared campus space dedicated to research funding.

Join us for a one-hour introduction to the NSF IUSE program, a major funding opportunity designed to strengthen undergraduate STEM education. IUSE supports innovative strategies that enhance undergraduate STEM student engagement, learning, persistence, and workforce readiness.

In this session, you’ll:

  • Explore the two program tracks—Engaged Student Learning (ESL) and Institutional & Community Transformation (ICT)—and the levels within each.
  • Learn the essential elements of a strong proposal, including expectations for partnerships and highlights from recently funded IUSE projects at the University of Arizona.

Whether you’re new to NSF or seeking to sharpen your grantsmanship, this session will help you align your project with IUSE goals and strengthen your path to funding.
