BIOASSAY DEVELOPMENT/MOLECULAR TECHNIQUES: Our team of biologists have expertise in performing molecular laboratory services that comprise bioassay chemistries development and validation but also analytical tests with the scope of nucleic acids and proteins. In particular the team has access to laboratory equipment related to DNA forensic or other clinical tests. BIOLAB: The Center's molecular biology and general chemistry lab facilities occupy 1500 square feet with five fume hoods, two biosafety cabinets and an 80 foot bench area.
The Biomedical Device Prototyping Service (BDPS) located in the Keating Building is a service provided for UArizona researchers to assist in the development of new novel devices, modification to existing devices or development of devices to assist in research activities.
The Bio5 Media Facility provides microbiological media, plant tissue culture media, buffers, custom mammalian cell culture media, and other formulations tailored to researchers’ specific research needs.
The Chemistry and Biochemistry Machine Shop is a full-service precision machine shop specializing in the design and construction of custom mechanical equipment for scientific research and teaching. It is a research support component of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Arizona and also performs work for other University departments.
The glassblowing facility is a full-service shop primarily engaged in the design and fabrication of specialized scientific glassware as well as repairs and modifications of existing glassware.
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Electronics Shop (ChIEF) troubleshoots, repairs, designs and builds a wide variety of electronic equipment and scientific instrumentation.
We provide prototype machining, designing, fabrication, welding, consultation, instructional support, and community outreach programs. The MWC introduces innovative applications to research and development sectors including faculty, staff, students, and private industry.
We supply cryogenic liquids, gases, and dry ice across campus and outside the University. With our knowledgeable and experienced team, this facility is the designated provider for all such products at UArizona.
