UArizona may submit three proposals.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) aims to (a) enhance research programs and capabilities in scientific and engineering disciplines critical to the national security functions of DoD; (b) enhance the capacity of HBCU/MI to participate in DoD research programs and activities; and (c) increase the number of graduates, including underrepresented minorities, in fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) important to the defense mission.

"Given that so many colleges and academics were taken by surprise by this policy, I strongly recommend that the policy be reviewed by the full Faculty Senate for deliberation, for comparison with peer universities, and for revision."

ORP also believes that it was important to get feedback from Faculty Senate and other stakeholders.  As such, the policy underwent multiple stakeholder reviews, including review by Faculty Senate and APPC.  It was presented to the full Faculty Senate at its December 2, 2019, senate meeting and circulated to the Faculty Senate for review prior to implementation on an interim basis in May 2021.  It was also discussed at a January 9, 2020 APPC meeting in which Taren Ellis Langford was present.  (Please know that all suggestions and edits from APPC

2022 Pathway to Stop Diabetes - Initiator Award (INI) or Accelerator Awards (ACC)

UArizona is allowed a maximum of one nomination per grant cycle to one of the Pathway Program Award types: Initiator or Accelerator. Institutions may not submit nominations in multiple award types in a single grant cycle.

To accelerate the research needed to stop this deadly disease, the American Diabetes Association’s bold transformational initiative, Pathway to Stop Diabetes, is inspiring a new generation of diabetes researchers.
