International Coordination Group (ICG) Meeting

Join the International Coordination Group (ICG) Meeting for a monthly opportunity to engage with your colleagues across UArizona about global engagement and international research collaborations. ICG meets on the 3^rd Wednesday of each month from 9:00am-10:00am. UArizona faculty, postdocs, research staff, and graduate students are welcome and encouraged to register for the monthly Zoom ICG Meeting.

Spring 2022 ICG Meetings:

January 19, 2022: Dr. Kevin Fitzsimmons, Professor and Research Scientists, and Director of International Initiatives in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, will present on his international research engagements in Myanmar, focusing on the nuts and bolts of running a project overseas. He will end with an update on the current political situation in Myanmar.

February 16, 2022: Dr. Jeannine Relly, Professor and Director of Global Studies in the Center for Border and Global Journalism, will be the ICG's featured speaker. Dr. Relly will speak about the international reach and work done by the Center. The Center for Border and Global Journalism also hosts risk assessment, safety, and digital security training workshops related to research in the borderlands and other regions of the world.

March 16, 2022: Dr. Joaquín Ruiz, VP of Global Environmental Futures in RII, Director of Biosphere 2 and Professor of Geochemistry, will present on the international collaborations centered on the environment.

April 20, 2022: John Haupt, doctoral candidate in the Center for the Study of Higher Education, will present his research on short-term academic mobility through the Fulbright Scholar program and the relationship between international mobility and changes in academics’ research networks upon return.
