Rachel Small

Rachel Small is a research development associate who centers her portfolio with extramural funding sponsors for early career faculty and interdisciplinary teams. She has expertise in supporting faculty and graduate researchers in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Arizona and securing funding for their work. Well-versed in federal funding agencies and foundation sponsors, she has a strong track record of helping researchers craft compelling project narratives that resonate with wide audiences in both academic and non-academic environments. Rachel is completing her PhD in history with an emphasis on early Europe. Her research examines how natural disasters shaped state policies and social interactions in early modern Germany. Over the course of her graduate studies, she secured numerous grants and fellowships, including a Fulbright Scholarship.
