The Steward Observatory Prize Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics is a relatively new postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory. The successful candidate will have the freedom to pursue independent research as well as the opportunity to collaborate with numerous faculty members carrying out theoretical and observational research.

The MARC Program is a unique research, mentoring, financial and academic opportunity for undergraduates belonging to a group considered underrepresented in biomedical research and who have the interest and potential to pursue a PhD or combined PhD (e.g. MD/PhD) degree. The program is a two-year program intended for the last two years of a student’s enrollment at the University of Arizona.

This program provides six graduate fellowships per year to exceptional graduate students interested in promoting the understanding of space-related research to the public and who are studying in space sciences/engineering, public policy, earth sciences, science education, and global change-related fields.

These funds are intended to provide seed money to new investigators to help them start their research programs and to obtain preliminary data in support of more extensive proposals. Only applications that relate to cancer research will be accepted. However, cancer-related research will be interpreted using the broadest definition.

Each year, during Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week, the GPSC recognizes graduate and professional students, staff, and faculty that have made outstanding contributions to the campus and, in particular, to graduate education. Candidates for these awards are nominated by UA Faculty, staff or Graduate/Professional Students, unless otherwise specified. Winners and runners-up in each of the award categories are honored at the annual GPSC's Achievement Awards event.

The Cynthia White Travel and Study in Italy Award will be given each year to a student pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in the Department of Classics at the University of Arizona. The Social and Behavioral Sciences Research Institute Faculty Small Grants provide seed money of up to $3,500 to develop larger projects, especially those leading to proposals to external funding agencies. These grants may also be used for full-scale but inexpensive projects or parts of projects.

The Institute of the Environment offers up to five Dissertation Improvement Grants (DIGs) in the amount of $1,000 each for Global Change Ph.D. Minor Graduate Interdisciplinary Program students.

The Confluencenter's Director's Fund for Excellence awards are intended to provide critical support for short-term collaborative projects, especially those that reflect an interdisciplinary orientation or a commitment to public outreach.
