The Societal Impact Office under Research, Innovation, and Impacts (RII) and Student Engagement and Career Development (SECD) are partnering to (1) host the second annual introductory workshop on course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) as an approach to broadening access to undergraduate research (UR) for all fields, and (2) offer a paid opportunity for instructors to attend the 2021 CURE Training Institute and develop a CURE course. This effort is funded by a Provost Investment Fund.

The University of Arizona 2021 CURE Training Institute
Applications open: March 1, 2021
Application deadline: Monday, March 22, 2021
During the Institute, participants will learn about and use evidence-based instructional strategies to develop plans,
instructional materials, and assessment tools for integrating a research project into a first- or second-year course.
Eight teams will be selected for the 2021 CURE Cohort.
Each team will be awarded $7,000, funds for an undergraduate assistant, and four consultation hours with the Institute instructor.
Selection will be prioritized for CURE courses offered to first- and second-year students.
*Signature is required from the head of the department that will house the CURE course.
This opportunity is NOT limited to STEM fields.
