Major themes of the year 2020, including the COVID-19 pandemic and growing societal commitments to equity and inclusion, provide a compelling context for recognizing how open access can empower researchers and benefit people on a global scale. In this forum, faculty members from the UA Open Access Task Force will share their successes and challenges in engaging with open access, and discuss why now is the time for UA to establish an institutional commitment to open access to maximize the global impact of our faculty’s research and scholarship.
