Fronteridades Lecture Series: Stories of Migration, Dr. Irasema Coronado

Dr. Irasema Coronado, author and co-editor of Children Crossing Borders, Latin American Migrant Childhoods, will talk about her approach to crafting the stories of migrant and refugee children, and children of deportees, their experiences, the legislation and policies that affect them, and the cultural and literary production on them.

The Fronteridades Lectures Series program brings a cohort of emerging and established border scholars with interdisciplinary, theoretical expertise to understand transborder dynamics from multiple locations better. The Fronteridades Lecture Series builds on the 2019-2021 program to highlight the underrepresented voices of border scholars, artists, and organizers. The series fosters cross-regional dialogue and collaboration, bringing together scholars to share ideas in the arts, humanities, and humanistic social sciences.

We will give away printed copies of Children Crossing Borders, Latin American Migrant Childhoods to the first 50 people at the event for Dr. Coronado to sign after the talk. The talk will follow a gathering with appetizers and soft drinks in the ENR2 building courtyard.
