Functional Genomics Core

The Functional Genomics Core (FGC) provides capacity for high-throughput chemical, RNAi, and deletion library-based screens for the purpose of network analysis, drug and target discovery.

The FGC helps investigators doing research in molecular biology carry out live cell, biochemical and other assays. It provides custom services for research projects of all scales, but specializes in carrying out high-throughput drug/compound screens, RNAi screens, and yeast/microbial deletion library screens, and the automation of repetitive molecular biological protocols.

The FGC regularly works with the UA’s College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and College of Science, as well as industry partners dedicated to the research and development of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
